Regional Leader Profile

Mercedes Espinoza de Dalton

"My vision is to see the power of God restoring and equipping women to effectively do their work in the calling and ministry God has designed for them."

Mercedes Espinoza de Dalton has maintained her vision clearly since going into full-time ministry in 1994. Her motivation is rooted in the deep and growing gratitude she has for the Lord’s mercy to her and her family after years of hardship.

Mercedes travels throughout Latin America, the U.S. and Spain, expressing her compassion for those who suffer by teaching the word of God and preaching in churches and conferences. She is also a successful businesswoman and has networked among Christian women across Latin America since 1997.

In September, El Salvador’s Women of Global Action network—with Mercedes as their regional leader and executive committee member—and others across Latin America, held a National Prayer Conference. Out of this event came a proposal for teaching the Bible in public schools. Though Congress initially turned it down, a wave of support emerged.

Recently, Mercedes met with a congressional member, a Supreme Court judge and key Christian women in El Salvador to continue the discussion. Using materials already cleared by governments in Honduras, Costa Rica and Chile, Mercedes and the network have produced an excellent, easy-to-understand document that addresses biblical values in the classrooms.

Pray that El Salvador will adopt the proposal. The next step will be to take it to every country in Latin America!
