Your partnership with Global Action makes a difference

Romans 5:20: Where sin increased, grace increased all the more.
This past year, our partnership with you and others has seen that principle at work in Afghanistan, Jordan, Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, India, Sri Lanka and many other nations of the world.

…in Ethiopia
For the past two years, Global Action has worked alongside an Addis Ababa church that reaches out to young people living on the streets and to those likely to end up on the streets. We do this through a micro-enterprise program that provides practical life and employment skills.

One young Ethiopian woman, living on the streets just a year ago, recently graduated from the micro-enterprise sewing class and is now working in a sewing factory. She is able to pay her bills as well as pay the school fees for her younger brothers and sisters. More importantly, she has accepted the Lord as her Savior. What a transformation!

...in the Middle East
Thanks to strategic networking, we have helped train hundreds of women in this region in prayer and evangelism. Now these women are sharing their faith in some of the most difficult countries in the world.

...in Bulgaria
Bringing together people from 34 ethnic groups and more than 900 Protestant churches, Hope For The Balkans 2002 presented Christ as the lasting hope for the people of the Balkan Peninsula. Four back-to-back leadership conferences attracted 800 women, 300 pastors, 200 social activists and 1,000 youth. More than 5,000 attended the final evangelistic rally.

The 10-month outreach conveyed the hope of the Gospel through discipleship training, Scripture distribution, humanitarian aid, community service projects and prayer networking. Pastor Nikolai Nikolov of Nova Zagora, Bulgaria said about Hope For The Balkans: “Your work here is one more example of building bridges between different people, denominations and countries—it was an example of sharing God’s love with everyone. We look forward to people here rising up with new hope—Christ-like real hope!”

…in Ukraine
Hundreds of children attended Global Action’s summer Bible camps in Crimea, Ukraine. After the Americans returned home, local women continued day camps for needy children. They invited those from nearby neighborhoods, using principles learned from the visiting team. These camps not only provide children a positive experience, but also introduce them to the love of Jesus Christ. Such “fruit bearing” impacts multiple generations.

…in Moldova and Afghanistan

Working in partnership with the Salvation Army in Europe, we were able to offer thousands living in poverty-stricken Moldova and war-ravaged Afghanistan one meal a day this past winter. With food, they are able to survive physically and, therefore, be able to hear and respond to the Gospel as we share with them.

…in India
Approximately 250 people graduated from our 10-month Global Module Studies (GLOMOS) program this year. GLOMOS equips lay leaders to serve God full-time throughout their local communities. Each month, students train five others who, in turn, will train five more. One graduate writes, “I was a Communist party worker, but God has intervened in my life. Last year I went through the Global Action training module and was blessed. There were more than 12 converts from other religions who also were part of this year’s module training.”

People who go with Global Action make a difference
Gwen McVicker, British Columbia, Canada on Hope For The Balkans:
“Our team of women had the most fabulous time traveling and ministering across Bulgaria. God used us beyond everything we could think or imagine.”

Maisie Low, Colorado on her experiences in Eastern Europe:
“The one thing Americans can bring back from experiences like these are how Christians living in poverty learn how to depend on God for everything.”

“Cede” drummer, Shea Suess on the Church in Bulgaria:
“We played at one church that probably only had 15 members, and I have no doubt in my mind that those people show up week in and week out. All they wanna do is praise the Lord and hear the Gospel. It really blew me away because of their passion. They are driven; they know who they love and who they are following. And they have no reservations.”

Mike Pritchard, Denver on Hope For The Balkans:
“It was wonderful worshipping God and singing songs—even though we could not understand the Bulgarian language. Some of the songs we knew in English and they knew in Bulgarian. To sing them together was awesome… sorta like a foreshadowing of heaven when all tongues will sing praises to God.”

Daran Fruend, associate pastor for The Next Level Church, Denver:
“I went because I want to be where God is at work. God is at work in Sofia; God is definitely at work in Bulgaria, and I want to go back because I want to be a part of what He is doing.”

Susanne Griffin-Ziebart, Minnesota shares about her experience in Ukraine:
“God placed our team exactly where He wanted us to be. Funny how it doesn’t always fit into the plan we have for ourselves. After all this time as a child of God, you’d think I would have figured out that His plan is always better than mine. I am so grateful He remains faithful to lead us.

“Although I return every year to Ukraine because of the kids, I also have been incredibly blessed by the relationships with the Ukrainian adults. It is critical we support, encourage, teach, disciple and share with them because they are the true ministers to the children. We can provide the ‘mountain top’ experience (what many church camps provide for kids), but we will not be there to provide what the kids need for the days that follow.”

Your investment can make a difference

Christ proclaimed on secular TV in former Soviet Union
Once again Global Action will minister to literally millions of people this Christmas and Easter when we present, “The Life of Christ” on secular TV. We expect thousands of letters from people seeking contacts with churches for spiritual help.

Impacting young people and pastors in India
This October Global Action will train more than 1,000 young Christians, living on the northern borders between India and Pakistan and India and Nepal, so they can tell their non-Christian friends about the Prince of Peace.

We will also continue to equip pastors for greater service through training sessions in Bangalore (500 pastors); Hyderabad (1,500 pastors); and Northeast India (500 pastors). Another 250 men and women will begin the Global Action Module Studies (GLOMOS), providing more ministry workers for the harvest.

Training leaders for the future
Churches in Ethiopia, Ukraine and Latin America have invited Global Action to train young people for ministry.

Releasing women as risk takers for God around the world
Women of Global Action will help train Christian women in the Muslim world to share Christ in their neighborhoods. In other parts of the world, we will train women to live for Christ in such a way that their lives communicate the Gospel to all those around them.

Bulgaria…Hope For The Balkans 2003
After making such an impact in Bulgaria this spring, the Bulgaria Evangelical Alliance has invited Global Action to return in 2003. Visiting teams will join local churches to reach thousands across this nation of nearly 8 million with the Gospel. Next year, besides women, pastors and youth, we want to communicate specifically to men, a critical element in the Bulgarian Church.

The Word of God…needed everywhere
Every Global Action project needs Scriptures. We will continue to network among Bible agencies to make sure Scriptures play a major role in sharing Christ with others.

Impacting children and youth
Global Action will continue to minister to orphans and needy children around the world, focusing on Myanmar and Ukraine.

A cup of water in Christ’s name

As far as possible, Global Action will help meet the physical needs of people who would otherwise die of starvation or exposure. We will also help provide food and education to Gypsy children, and assist Ethiopians through the dynamic church micro-enterprise program. Those who receive our help are able to help others in return.
